Looking for food for a wedding or event on Whidbey Island? There a number of great caterers on the Island that I love working with, most of whom source from the many wonderful local farms that are here. Since my goal is to make your Whidbey Island wedding planning easy and stress-free, here are my top 7 off-site caterers. You can’t go wrong with any of them. And since great food is better paired with well-crafted wines, see below for a list of Whidbey Island wineries, breweries and distilleries. I support local, and I encourage you to do the same!!

The top 6 Whidbey Island Caterers
Serendipity satisfies over and over again. I have worked with this company on SO many weddings. They always get it right and I’ve never heard a complaint. Their food is terrific, their service is stellar, their prices are fair, they are easy to work with and accommodating… I can’t say enough wonderful things. Pardon me while I gush.
Roaming Radish – my mouth is watering at just the mention of their name! Chefs Jess and JP are known for and are committed to making super delicious food with a creative edge and with a focus on local. They offer great service & a diverse menu. Another Whidbey Island standout.
Front Street Grill offers super service, great food, competitive pricing. Alena (the chef and catering manager) will make it easy for you to work with her. I’ve only heard raves about the food and her presentation is lovely.
Midnight Kitchen has cut back a bit with their catering service now that they’ve opened their new restaurant Island Nosh, but if you can get a date with them, you’ll be happy. They have a very approachable, laid-back attitude but they totally deliver with service and flavor. Also don’t overlook their noodle restaurant, Island Nosh, as a great place to pick up trays of food for rehearsals and casual lunches or dinners while the whole group is in town and no one wants to cook. This is a great place to send your guests for lunch or dinner as well.
Useless Bay Coffee Company – if you’ve had coffee or lunch here then you know you are in for some happy tastebuds! UBCC offers a BBQ menu as well as a lesser-known but very tasty Mediterranean Menu. While they don’t offer a huge range of menu customization, and they follow a drop-catering model, they can staff the buffet for you to keep things full and appetizing. This is a great option for a more casual event, and also for rehearsal dinners and day-after occasions. This is also a great place to recommend guests go for breakfast or lunch while they are in town.
bayleaf Coupeville offers paella, cooked on site, almost as a performance, for your guests. This is a great option for an outdoor event. Pair this with their gourmet cheese & charcuterie platters and you are good to go!
Blue Dog Catering is great, especially if you are looking for a wider-ranging menu. Owner Tim has lived in many places around the globe and brings his range of culinary experience to his menu options.
Whidbey-made wines, beers and spirits to go with that tasty meal
We have great wineries here – some grow their grapes on the Island, others bring them in from Eastern WA, some do a combo. All these wineries have tasting rooms. Come up before your wedding, book a room at any of the great B&Bs or hotels, and go on a wine tasting tour! That’s also a really fun thing to recommend to your guests, and it is a great way to make your event unique and show off the art of this place you have chosen! There are so many great things to say about each I won’t go into much detail.
Spoiled Dog – great Island-grown reds, they offer growler fills
Comforts of Whidbey – most of the grapes are estate grown; their whites are especially lovely
Whidbey Island Winery – perhaps the most well known of the Island wineries
Ott & Murphy – visit their tasting room in downtown Langley
Blooms – they offer lots of live music in their bayview tasting room
Dancing Fish – Whidbey’s newest winery
Double Bluff Brewing – he sells kegs for your weddings – I love his Kolsch the best!
Whidbey Island Distillery – their berry liquours make great champagne cocktails
Cadee Distillery – right down by the ferry
