Hooray! A dream I’ve had for awhile is in motion. I’ve been working hard lately on coproducing the first annual Weddings on Whidbey and Events Tour. Gloria Mickunas of Whidbey Party Girls! is my (totally awesome) partner in this brilliant endeavor. On November 9th, ticket buyers will arrive at Historic Crockett Barn in Coupeville. From there, they will be chauffeured by tour sponsor Whidbey Sea-Tac Shuttle (thanks to them!) to 4 more wedding and event venues including Captain Whidbey Inn, bayleaf, Ciao, and Garrison Hall at Ft. Casey. All the venues with be decorated to inspire. Each venue will house caterers and beverage providers will be serving tasty bites and delicious drinks to savor as guests browse and talk with many different wedding & event venue services. It’s going to be great! Here’s a quick preview:
Our goal with this tour is to promote Whidbey Island as a great place for any destination event, from weddings to corporate retreats to family reunions. We aim to showcase and support local businesses, and to provide a one-stop-shopping experience for anyone planning an Island getaway event.
Due to the size of our lovely isle and the logistics of transporting everyone, we are forced to choose one location at a time to host the tour. This year Coupeville is hosting, and next year will be South Whidbey’s turn! But at both tours, we will represent the whole island. Within each venue, more venues from throughout the island will present themselves along with a variety of other vendors from all over Whidbey.
