I enjoyed a professional adventure last weekend. I helped out Perfect Harmony Events as well as Kaspar’s Catering and Special Events and did the flowers for their Seattle Wedding Show booths. It was great fun!
Kaspar’s Theme was “Champagne Dreams a la The Great Gatsby”. Think flapper – beaded necklaces, asymmetry. Come to their open house on February 9th and they’ll be giving away one of those bottles of champagne! For their display I made a garland for the table from Baby’s Breath, Variegated Boxwood, and copper-berry Eucalyptus. The centerpieces featured white Ostrich Feathers, ‘Cinnamon’ peach Roses, Baby’s Breath, white Snapdragons, and green Bells of Ireland. They perched atop tall slim glass risers that you can barely see in this photo!
Jillian of Perfect Harmony Events chose “enchanted woodland” as her theme. We chose greens, whites and yummy cappucino brown to capture the create a serene nature vibe. Thanks to Laura Marchbanks for these lovely images!
For the florals I used a lot of plumosa fern for the great texture and wandering nature. I also used ‘Prado’ green Carnation, white Tulip, Baby’s Breath, Queen Anne’s Lace, green trailing Amaranth, white Hydrangea, and white Snapdragons.
I made a moss chandelier – it seemed to really capture the enchanted woodland theme. It was quite a hit! Here’s a crummy shot from my camera.
This cake by Judy from Tallant House was a traffic-jam-creating showstopper!
I’ll close with a shout out to the folks who run the wedding show. I have never participated in an event at the convention center. I was very impressed by how smoothly everything ran during the set up and take down process. Not a single traffic jam on the loading dock! Everything went quite well and smoothly. Nice job, show hosts!
Wow that cake is a showstopper! My my! The artwork is amazing
