There’s a New Cake Baker on Whidbey Island!
Meet Jen, of Flying Flowers Specialty Sweets. She is Whidbey Island’s newest – really, most recent – baker and creator of wedding cake and specialty sweets. I’ve had the luck of sampling her goods on a number of occasions now. Every time I do, I am impressed by the quality as well as the beauty of whatever it is she is offering. Add to that her lovely personality, bright smile, and a sourcing ethos that is smack in line with mine – well, I just had to make sure you know about her! I would order a wedding cake from her in a heartbeat.

This is just a mediocre snapshot I took of the delightful goodies she made for my recent Flower Jewelry Class at Flying Bear Store in Langley. They were lemon poppyseed with buttercream piping and some tasty fruit preserves. So delicious and light – just right!
