Spring Woods Wedding

A spring woods wedding on Whidbey Island
This one gave us all the good feels! Kelsey and Ryan are such a sweet couple. They grew up on Whidbey. They live in Seattle now, but returned to celebrate with their family and friends. They chose Fireseed Catering as their venue because it offers the woodsey and welcoming feeling they wanted. Catie Coyle Photography captured the day beautifully!
Bouquets featured the best of spring’s locally grown blooms
Kelsey’s theme is white, neutral and blush, with a touch of copper. We loved playing with all of early spring’s yummiest blooms. Ranunculus, Anemone, Roses & Tulips are the main players. I’m crazy about the green eye in those Anemone! Sedums & Eucalyptus bring in greenery and texture. Jasmine vines add a bit of grace & motion. Sumac & Calcynia add texture and color echoes of blush. My business mission is to use local whenever I can, so I chose Tulip, Ranunculus and Anemone grown by Washington farmers. I’m pretty sure everything else was grown in America. In the early spring, it is nice to have such beautiful product from California and Oregon in our markets!

To bring in the copper theme, we gilded some of the foliage, and wrapped the boutonniere in copper wire. Trailing silk ribbons on the bride’s bouquet reinforce the neutral, blush and coppery tones, and add some floaty grace for the magical day. It is so pretty when they dance in the breeze.

They made the most of their misty day in the woods!
